Super Formula Launch
Tokyo, March 26: Japan’s top formula car series, the newly-named Super Formula (nee: Formula Nippon) had its launch, driver and team presentations in central Tokyo.
In addition to the series’ 19 regular drivers and their bosses, two Korean pilots, both of whom will make ‘spot’ entries at the recently-announced Korean round to be held at the Inje International Circuit (Inje Autopia) on August 24-25, were also on hand.
The day featured a signing ceremony between JRP (Japan Race Promotion, series’ organisers) and their Korean counterparts, in what was a significant step in the aspirations of the series, aiming to become the “undisputed, standard-bearing” formula car racing series in Asia. Further expansion is expected in the near-term, with the eventual goal of events that span the continent.
