Final Pre-season Test for SUPER GT Machinery
Okayama, March 16-17: The first official test of the 2013 SUPER GT season was held at Okayama International Circuit for two days, March 16 and 17, with a total of eight hours’ track time (four two-hour sessions) given to competitors.
Sunny weather on the first day drew a crowd of over 6,000 fans, and a major turn-out is expected for the opening round of the season, being held here on April 6 and 7.
Topping the timesheets on the first day was the #6 ENEOS SUSTINA SC430 of Kazuya Oshima, crossing the line in 1.21:963; while reigning GT300 champion Naoki Yokomizu stopped the timing beam at 1.28:049.
The second day’s action was all about Kodai Tsukakoshi in the #17 KEIHIN HSV-010 GT, the young charger setting a best time of 1.21:828. The previous day’s pace-setter Yokomizu once again set the fastest time in GT300, maintaining Team Taisan’s form at the head of the leaderboard.
